Introduction
1、 Overview of ICU ward visitation program

These documents put forward clear requirements for upgrading and developing the hospital's information construction, improving the people's medical experience, unifying medical quality and safety standards, promoting the nursing service system, nursing service models, nursing processes, and other aspects.
In order to facilitate the early recovery of patients and prevent the occurrence of external infections in the hospital, ICU patients are prohibited from having family members accompany them. Due to the isolation between family members and patients, it is necessary to introduce a visitation system with high video clarity and smooth voice communication to provide a convenient communication bridge between family members and patients. The hospital ICU visitation system is mainly designed to address the situation where any visiting family member is transferred to the corresponding hospital bed through observation at the nursing station. Or the family terminal can use mobile devices to visit patients remotely via the Internet, and medical staff can transfer them to the ICU bed on the hospital intranet to establish a two-way video call shortcut between family members and patients. Medical staff can also monitor and observe the patient's condition at any time through the nurse station host, in order to take necessary emergency measures and ensure the safety of patients in case of emergencies.
Remote visit/monitoring, call and call functions use Internet video technology to enable doctors or family members to communicate with patients in ICU wards through the network in voice and video, to meet the urgent needs of people who are located in different places or cannot go to the hospital for special reasons to communicate with patients.

3、 Project construction objectives
1) To ensure the universality, maintainability, and scalability of the system, it adopts an IP network architecture, supports 100M/1000M adaptive transmission, and supports carrying different data/voice/video services to meet the upgrade and expansion needs of subsequent system applications; The system adopts a distributed architecture with no central control network to ensure that any device/node or line failure in the system will not affect the normal call and information service operation of other devices in the system.
2) The system can seamlessly integrate with the hospital HIS system, automatically read patient information and medical staff information, and display the corresponding information on the nurse station ICU medical host, nurse station medical information board, ICU bed extension, and corridor display screens.
3) IP intercom is based on the carrier grade open SIP protocol, which has relative openness and is easy to interconnect with other SIP based VoIP network telephone systems. The ICU medical host, ICU family visit extension, and ICU bed extension are all full duplex intercoms, requiring no echo during intercoms, clear and loud sound, and dynamic noise reduction, automatic gain and other audio processing functions to ensure intercom sound effects. Meanwhile, utilizing the high bandwidth of IP networks, the system can support the handling of multiple concurrent calls.
4) For the convenience of system maintenance, all switching equipment and network cables are centrally installed on the weak current well distribution frame on the floor. There should be no relay or transfer equipment from the weak current well to the equipment end, in order to facilitate subsequent troubleshooting, positioning, and replacement of faulty equipment.
5) The system supports contactless access control and commuting management such as facial recognition, and can also seamlessly integrate with existing access control systems. It uses the hospital's existing work ID as the one card access control system to improve the hospital's entry and exit security (optional, requires access control system support, or choose our company's access control system).
4、 System Design Proposal
The ICU visitation system mainly consists of HIS system data processing services, intelligent ward integrated management platform, remote visitation system platform, ward management system, medical host, visitation extension, bed extension, ward access control host, etc.
Hospitals can choose different equipment configurations based on their own scale, level of informatization, investment budget, and other comprehensive factors.
4.1 Scheme Description
One ICU ward is equipped with a ward management center (nurse station), and a set of ICU media servers is deployed to facilitate high-quality services and work efficiency.
The system is based on network transmission and uses TCP/IP protocol to transmit video, audio, and various control signals, making it easy to connect and access the Internet. In the construction of ward networking, high-quality network switches are used to achieve digital switching, transmission, and other functions in the ward.
In terms of transmission materials, long-distance connections should be made using optical fibers and fiber optic transceivers, and Category 5e network cables should be used for transmission within the ward.
According to the actual situation on site, each entrance and exit of the ward is equipped with a ward door machine for visitors to confirm their identity through visual intercom with the nurse station. Medical staff enter and exit through various methods, such as card swiping, fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, etc.
4.2 Advantages of the Plan
1) Fully digital networking
The system adopts TCP/IP networking method and implements intercom function through local area network. All audio, video and data signals are transmitted through digital encoding, and the video supports protocols such as H.263 and H.264; Audio supports H.711, H.723, The protocol supports PCM, ADPCM, AMR, AAC, and G.711 formats.
2) Easy to install and maintain
The system adopts international standard network interfaces, making construction, maintenance, and upkeep convenient. Using standard Category 5 network cables for wiring, maintenance and expansion are convenient, and the construction cost of pipeline lines is almost minimized.
3) Multi channel communication, no line occupation
The system can achieve point-to-point signal transmission and supports multi-channel call intercom networking.
4) Strong anti-interference ability
All audio and video signals, as well as control signals, are connected through digital networking, ensuring lossless transmission, free from line interference, and unrestricted by distance.
5) Easy system upgrade
The digital medical intercom system can be remotely upgraded online, making it convenient for system improvement.
6) System operation and maintenance
Provide a system operation and maintenance management platform that constantly reflects the operating status of the system and equipment, as well as the amount of call and intercom data in the system, to facilitate the supervision of the hospital information department's system status and reduce operation and maintenance costs.

5、 Introduction to System Functions
5.1 Touch display
Nurse station host: It adopts full touch screen operation, with each touch button corresponding to a visitation extension number and a bed extension number. It can make one click calls to the visitation extension or bed extension, monitor the bed extension, interject, forcibly hang up, and other different operations;
Visiting extension: It adopts full touch screen operation and is equipped with a one click call button;
Bed extension: It adopts full touch screen operation, combined with shortcut key calling method,
5.2 Visual intercom
Visiting extension and bed extension intercom: Both visiting extension and bed extension come with their own cameras. The visitation extension first calls the ICU medical host, and medical staff call the bed extension they want to visit through the ICU medical host. After confirming the conditions for visitation, they transfer to the corresponding ICU bed extension. At this time, family members and critically ill patients have a two-way visual intercom.
Nurse station host and bed extension intercom: Patients can directly call each other through the ICU bed extension and nurse station host for visual intercom.
The nurse station host can call back the visitation extension or ICU bed extension, and the visitation extension or ICU bed extension will automatically answer for visual intercom.
Visitors to the ward can call the nurse station host with one click through the ward entrance machine for video call intercom.
5.3 Large screen display
The ICU visitation extension in the visitation area can be connected to a large LCD screen display through a high-definition output port, allowing for synchronous viewing of patient call videos on the large screen during family visitation intercom.
5.4 Panoramic and Close up Video Call
Each ICU bedside can be equipped with a network camera, which allows family members to switch from close-up video to panoramic video through the ICU visitation extension during visits. It supports back and forth switching and can be operated by family members.
5.5 Audio and Video Recording
The process of the call can be recorded and recorded, and the call and call time can be recorded. The recorded files can be stored on the extension and host for direct playback, or exported to a computer for playback and storage; Support automatic transfer of audio and video files to designated servers when the extension and host are idle.
5.6 Monitoring/surveillance/forced disconnection of calls
During visits between family members and patients, medical staff can monitor and monitor the communication process between family members and patients through the nurse station host, and even forcibly cut off the communication based on the patient's status.
5.7 Interjection
During visits between family members and patients, medical staff can interrupt one of them through the nurse station host. At this time, the other party will play a friendly prompt sound, mainly to increase the friendly prompt function between medical staff and family members and patients.
5.8 One click Call
Both the visitation extension and the bed extension support one click calling to the nurse station host.
The nurse station host can call the visitation extension and bed extension with one click.
5.9 Viewing hospital beds
The nurse station host supports viewing the patient's condition on the bed to achieve the purpose of monitoring the condition.
5.10 Ward door unlocking
The nurse station host can control the opening and closing of the ward door lock and can have visual communication with visitors to achieve access and visitation management at the ward entrance.
5.11 WeChat Mini Program
On the mobile WeChat mini program, log in and access through the account and password assigned by the hospital, make appointments, and initiate remote visitation calls.
